You can set off on your own with a handy bird book, or sign up for a birding adventure hosted by the Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary. Located in Lenox, MA, the Sanctuary offers a variety of challenging trails along the slopes of Lenox Mountain or easier trekking through meadows and forest.

Whether you are a novice birder or an avian expert, these guided hikes and programs will introduce you to the Berkshire hot spots for bird sightings, as well as lesser known locales. Planned hikes traverse the Pleasant Valley trails, as well those found at Canoe Meadows Wildlife Sanctuary in Pittsfield and Lime Kiln Farm Wildlife Sanctuary in Sheffield, MA.
