“Autumn seemed to arrive suddenly that year. The morning of the first September was crisp and golden as an apple.” – J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Streets filled with vendors offering everything apple and more, that’s what the 40th Annual Lenox Apple Squeeze promises this year when it returns to the Berkshires on September 21-22, 2019. Apple pie, apple cake, apple muffins, sauce, cider, donuts – what’s your pleasure? You’ll find it among the 150 food and craft vendors lining the main street of Lenox on what many consider to be the opening event of the fall season.
Attracting thousands of visitors, this time-honored tradition continues to bring smiles to the faces of those lucky enough to attend. It’s not just apples that create the buzz in the Berkshires during this event. This family-friendly street fest offers something for everyone. Take a wagon ride through town, watch the street performers, listen to music, and shop ’til you drop at dozens of craft tents offering everything from handmade jewelry, soap, quilts and more. It’s a perfect opportunity to start your holiday shopping early.
Farm stands and sidewalk sales, music and merriment combine to make this celebration of the apple harvest a truly wonderful small town America event. Mark your calendar for September 21 and 22 and book a stay at the Staveleigh House Bed and Breakfast, where you’ll be greeted with warm hospitality in the beautiful Berkshire mountain region of western Massachusetts.
