The hills are alive with the music of Verdi during the Berkshire Opera Festival, August 25-31, 2018, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
Now in its third year, the 2018 fest brings one of opera’s favorite stories to the stage—Verdi’s Rigoletto. A timeless story—made even more relevant in our current atmosphere–the opera follows a young Gilda as she struggles with the self-entitled and abusive men in her life. The heart-wrenching tale of love, betrayal, and vengeance features some of opera’s most beloved arias. Performed by an outstanding international cast, this is a wonderful summertime treat.
Adding to the pleasure will be a special free concert titled “Meet Joe Green”on August 15, 2018 in nearby Great Barrington, featuring the music of Giuseppe Verdi, “Joe Green,” the brilliant composer who wrote nearly 30 operas.
