Not only have the number of farmers markets in the Berkshire area increased, but the bounty of goods they sell has as well. From fresh produce to fine crafts, farmers markets are not just for locals, but a place where visitors can find treasures to take home. Many also feature live music. Here are some of our favorites in the area.
Sheffield Farmers’ Market. The Friday afternoon market is conveniently located just blocks from Staveleigh House. Though small, it has a nice selection of vendors and fresh produce from farmers.

Great Barrington Farmers Market. Now in its 27th year, this is a 100% producer-only market that features a vast range of items, including fresh veggies and flowers, honey and maple syrup, meats and eggs, baked goods, jams and chutneys.

18 Church Street, Great Barrington, MA
West Stockbridge Farmers Market. Held every Thursday in the center of the historic downtown, this market not only sells fresh produce and foods, but has local chefs on hand creating specialty dishes.. There’s also a weekly raffle and life music.

Merritt Green on Harris Street, West Stockbridge, MA
New Canaan Farmers Market. This smaller market runs into December and features a nice selection of farms and bakeries.
