2018 is the 92nd year for Jumpfest, the annual ski jumping competition coming to Satre Ski Hill in Salisbury, Connecticut, February 9-11. Salisbury is just 20 minutes from Staveleigh House, making it a great outing for guests. So bundle up and head out there to take in all the fun!
The event is sponsored by the Salisbury Winter Sports Association (SWSA) and features three days of different ski jumping contests. It’s a top draw for the East Coast’s most talented ski jumpers, many of whom are Junior National competitors and Olympic hopefuls. In addition to the ski jump events, there will be a Human Dog Sled Race—and if you’ve never seen one, it’s not to be missed.
Satre Ski Hill has one of the oldest ski jumping programs in the nation, begun in 1926, and this is its premier weekend of the winter. There will be bonfires to keep visitors warm all three days of the fest, and food and beverages to keep you happy. Following is a brief overview of what the weekend includes. Visit the Jumpfest website for additional information.
